Occidental Petroleum Corporation is the third largest oil supplier in Texas. The company was founded in 1920. In 1956, Armand Hammer was brought in to the company. At the time, Occidental Petroleum was run by Dave Harris, Roy Roberts and John Sullivan. In 1957, Harmer was promoted to CEO of the company – over the next ten years, Occidental Petroleum grew to international. Under Harmer’s leadership, the company began working with Libya, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia and the United Kingdom.
